A Colonial Woman's outfit consisted mostly of:
Cap/bonnent- form of headwear
Short gown/shirt- covered underwear
Pocket- used to hold coins, pins, or other things. Usually worn under apron or skirt unless it was embroidered with their initials.
Kerchief- used for fashion and comfort, frequently blue and white.
Shoes- made from silk fabrics, worsteds, or leathers.
Stays/Bodice- corset, mostly for upperclass or wealthy.
Stomacher- attached to the bodice to hold gown together.
Undress- working clothes.
Petticoat- skirt-like garment
Muffs- used to keep hands warm
Gown- consisted of bodice and skirt joined together
